St. Ann's Celebrates Social Workers Appreciation Month

Social workers confront some of the most challenging issues facing individuals, families, communities, and society and provide solutions that help people reach their full potential.

We celebrate the contribution of social workers during National Social Work Month. St. Ann’s especially celebrates and recognizes the social workers that have played a vital role in the lives of the young mothers and children we service.

One of three extraordinary women currently interning in the St. Ann’s Social Work Services, recently reflected on her experience.

Catholic University Graduate student, Caroline Ydstie, supports St. Ann’s mothers and ensures that they have access to necessary resources. Along with the Social Work Services Department, Caroline offers structure and guidance to the young mothers as they build a foundation for their future.

Caroline came to St. Ann’s with hopes to build on her past experience in working with adolescents in the foster care system.  She was also excited to work with St. Ann’s families through the programs offered. “I wish everybody had access to programs like those that are available here.”

We thank our social workers for being a crucial component of our residential services. Each social worker continues to improve the lives of our young mothers and their children.
